Firing Support for Zirconia, e.max, and Porcelain Restorations
Insta-Peg Refractory Material allows technicians to quickly create stable support for crowns, veneers, and other ceramic restorations during the firing cycle. This custom peg putty can be applied directly to a firing peg, tray, or restoration and holds securely without slumping, expanding, or contaminating the restoration.
Compatible with zirconia, e.max, and other dental ceramics, Insta-Peg stabilizes restorations and allows for easy removal after the firing cycle using compressed air or a light twisting or plucking motion.
How Insta-Peg Is Commonly Used
With a Firing Peg
Insta-Peg is commonly used with a firing peg to support crowns, veneers, and other ceramic restorations during porcelain and glaze firing cycles. The material can be placed on the peg itself or inside the restoration before positioning it on the peg, creating stable support throughout the firing process.
Without a Firing Peg
In some situations, technicians choose to skip the firing peg entirely. Insta-Peg can be placed directly on a firing tray to support restorations such as veneers or other restorations that cannot be supported on pegs.
As a Handle
Insta-Peg can also be placed inside the interior of a crown or restoration to create a temporary handle. This makes it easier to position restorations during setup and remove them after the firing cycle is complete.
Why Choose Insta-Peg
Stable Ceramic Firing Support
Provides reliable support for crowns, veneers, and other ceramic restorations throughout porcelain and glaze firing cycles.
Ideal Handling Consistency
Not too thin. Not too thick. Insta-Peg shapes easily and stays where you put it.
No Dry Time Required
Unlike traditional peg putty materials, Insta-Peg can be placed directly into the furnace after application, eliminating waiting time and simplifying the firing workflow.
High-Temperature Stability
Remains stable during firing cycles up to 1300°C (2375°F) without slumping, expanding, or contaminating the restoration.
Clean Removal After Firing
Material removes easily using compressed air or a light twisting or plucking motion.
